- What is Glued?
Glued Pty Ltd is an Australian company that imports DVD and video game vending machines into Australia and New Zealand. Glued machines operate in the same way as ATMs but dispense DVDs and games for hire. Each machine has the capacity to store as many DVDs and Games as your traditional video store. The difference is that we are quick, convenient, easy to use, cheap and open 24/7.
- Do I need to be a member to use a Glued machine?
No! You can use your credit card instead of your membership card. The difference is that a flat rate fee per 24 hours applies for DVDs hired by non-members. Members can return their dvd, blu-ray or game after 6, 12 or 24 hours and reap the rewards by paying less because they are a member. You need to be an active member to benefit from all the special deals we offer.
- How do I become a member of Glued and reap the rewards?
There are three ways to become a member of Glued:
1. Go to your local Glued location which will be manned on a daily basis for a set period of time (even though the machine will be open 24/7). Fill out the application form and you will instantly be issued a membership card. Please note proof of current id such as driver’s license or passport is required to complete your membership form, and cash or a valid credit card. To activate, simply put some credit on your card and you will be able to start using your local Glued machine then and there. Remember that you can put credit on your membership card using cash or a credit card.
2. By machine – Go to your local Glued machine and follow the prompts to become a member. You will be issued with a membership card you can charge up and start using.
3. Online – Visit our website at www.glued.com.au and join up online. Just follow the prompts and fill in the online form. Our administration staff will process your membership within 24 hours after which time you can call in to your local glued store to collect your membership card. You will need to do bring your proof of id, nominate a pin number and put some credit on to activate your card. Once you've done this you will be ready to hire from our wide selection of DVDs, blu-rays and games and to benefit from being a member of Glued.
- What sort of security and control mechanisms do the membership cards have on them?
Each membership card has 2 pin numbers that can be activated on it. Each pin number can be tailored to have only age appropriate ratings and selections available to the person with access to that particular pin number. They will not even see the range that is unavailable or inappropriate to them. You can either personalise your pin number or use the pin that is automatically generated. The pin can be changed at any time in store.
- How do I pay for DVDs and games?
You pay for your rental item when you return it to your Glued machine. You must have enough credit on your membership card if you are a member. The machine will calculate how long you have held your items for and will deduct the amount from your membership or credit card. You must have enough credit on your membership card if you are a member or the machine will not allow you to return your items. All you need to do if this happens is put enough credit on your card and then return the discs. Discs must be inserted into the machine one at a time. The slot will open and close for one disc at a time.
If you are a member, insert your membership card into the machine followed by your credit card or cash and select the amount you would like to credit to your membership card. If you are not a member, simply insert your credit card and it will automatically be charged the daily rate. Members can hire DVDs for 6 hours, 12 hours or 24 hours. The quicker you return your disc the less you will have to pay. The rates apply in blocks of each time bracket. You need to return your discs within each time frame. If you exceed the time bracket you will automatically be charged for the next bracket. Once you have exceeded the first 24 hours a standard daily rate applies.
Non-members (credit card users) can hire for 24 hour blocks only. You can only benefit from the membership offers if you are a Glued member.
- Why are Glued prices lower than video stores?
Our prices are lower than traditional video stores because our overheads are much lower and we pass these savings onto our customers.
- What happens if I don't return my DVD/game on time?
You will be charged a daily rate for a total of 21 days after which time the DVD or game is yours to keep. There are no late fees!
- What are the payment methods accepted by Glued machines?
To put credit on your membership card you can use either cash or any major credit cards. To use the Glued machines if you are a non-member you can use credit card only. All transactions and prices are in Australian dollars.
- What happens if I lose the disc or the case?
In either of these instances please contact us on 1-3000-glued immediately to let us know. We will stop the daily charge to your membership or credit card and we will process a lump sum replacement fee at the RRP of that particular product.
- How many DVDs and games can I rent at a time?
Members can rent 2 items at a time and credit card users only 1 at a time.
- When are the Glued machines updated with new releases?
On a weekly basis.
- What do I do if my DVD/game is unplayable?
Please contact us on 1-3000-glued. We will resolve your issue or give you a refund for your rental. We understand how annoying a scratched DVD/game is, and therefore endeavour to maintain our products at a very high standard.
- Do I have to return my DVD/game to the same machine from which I hired it?
Yes you do, unless otherwise instructed when you sign up. Some machines will be linked but generally they will be independently operated.
- What do I do if the machine won't accept my returned rental?
Please verify that the disc is in the case and that the security bar code is intact. If the machine still won’t accept the returned rental then please call us on 1-3000-glued or email us at info@glued.com.au and we will investigate the problem and resolve your issue.
- What if my membership card or credit card is charged incorrectly?
Please contact us on 1-3000-glued, have your card details ready and we will resolve the issue for you and will refund any incorrect charges. You can also email your query to info@glued.com.au
- Is it safe to provide my credit card details? What is the credit card security?
We use the most secure method of credit card transactions. We do not store any of your financial details on our system. Securepay process all financial transactions between our customers, financial institutions and Glued. Your credit card details are encrypted in all transactions going to and from any bank to ensure the maximum possible security.
- Can I reserve movies online and pick up at my local Glued machine?
Yes. Simply log onto our website www.glued.com.au and select your machine by location. Enter your membership and pin numbers and you will be 'virutally' transported to the machine you have selected. You can then browse at your leisure the selection available in the machine at that time. Once you have finished browsing, simply place your DVD/game on hold. The machine will hold your selection for 3 hours. When you reach your Glued machine just place your membership card into the dispensing machine and your hold order will automatically be issued to you. No need to browse any further. Please note this option is available to members only.
- The title I want is currently not available. Can I be notified when it becomes available again?
As a member you can utilise the SMS booking system that will reserve the movie and notify you by SMS once it has been returned to the machine and is available for rental. The machine will hold the movie for you for 3 hours. You can also reserve available titles from our webpage instantly and pick them up within 3 hours. We also welcome feedback; if you have difficulties obtaining the title you’d like please advise us and we will investigate the problem and rectify it appropriately (it may mean we require additional copies).
- How do I reserve my DVD/games by SMS?
All you need to do to reserve your DVD/game via SMS is text the 3-digit code on the movie to the phone number and your local Glued machine will hold the reservation for you for 3 hours.
- How do I update my account information?
You can do this either in store or online. Just bring proof of ID with you and we will make the required changes. If you are changing your account information online please fill in a membership form with the required fields and we will update our records accordingly.
